Background to Panarts
Panarts have been established for over 25 years and is a registered charity. Over the years, the organisation has worked with many community groups, schools, colleges, universities and songwriters.
In 2005 we started the Belfast Nashville Songwriters® Festival & Song Writing Convention. Our main aim is to celebrate the art of song writing and encourage people to be creative by providing them with opportunities to perform new music.

Terms and Conditions
Panarts Young Songwriter of the Year 2017 Award includes
- Avalon Guitar (valued at £3000)
- Panarts Belfast Songwriters Showcase™ trip to Nashville Tennessee
15th -20th March 2018.
Includes one return flight and shared accommodation. Panarts will arrange music Industry meetings and showcase performances including a concert in the world famous Bluebird Café.
- Take part in a headline concert at the 14th Belfast Nashville Songwriters’ Festival 7th-11th March 2018. The date of the concert will be decided by Panarts and cannot be changed.
- Interview with Downtown Radio, arranged by Panarts.
The Panarts Young Songwriter of the Year Award 2017 is open to under 25 year old (at the 1st November 2017) Northern Ireland songwriters. Proof of address in Northern Ireland may be requested.
Entrants must provide true, accurate, current and complete contact details and other relevant information.
Each entrant is asked to submit one song by email. The song submitted must be the applicant’s original work.
The entrant must be singing the song they have submitted and finalists must take part in the Award Concert, Sunday 26th November 2017, performing two original songs each. Doors 6.30pm, Show 7pm-9.30pm at Clayton Hotel Belfast.
A short bio of up to 50 words about the writer and their music is required with the song entry.
A song that has been co-written will be accepted but the award can only be presented to one person, the named entrant.
The Award is non-transferable and no cash substitution is possible.
The dates of the showcase events in Nashville cannot be changed accept by Panarts. Should the winner be unable to travel on the dates set by Panarts, this part of the Award will be withdrawn.
Entrants do not need a professional recording of their song. The song will be judged on originality, lyrics and melody.
The six finalists (or more if Panarts decides) will be notified by email.
Panarts decision as to the six (or more) finalists and Award winner will be final and cannot be appealed.
No correspondence will be entered into with entrants other than the six (or more) finalists.
Closing and announcement dates for the Award may change without notice to you. Such changes will however be posted on www.belfastnashville.com
Family and close friends of Panarts staff and trustees are not permitted to enter any Panarts competitions or Awards.
Entering for the award does not grant you the right or license to use any Panarts material (ie logos, images, text, etc) trademarks or other intellectual property of Panarts without first obtaining Panarts written consent.
Entrants must be able to perform their own song, if they are selected to take part in the live final. If an entrant cannot play an instrument they will be permitted to have one accompanist for their performance in the final.
All entrants, as a condition of entry, acknowledge that Panarts has the right to publicise and broadcast the six finalists and award winner’s song, name, photograph, voice, film recording and other matters incidental thereto.

Award announced at the finalists concert: Sunday 26th November in the Clayton Hotel, 22 Ormeau Avenue, Belfast. Doors 6.30pm, Show 7pm – 9.30pm. Each finalist will have four complimentary places and all others will pay £5 at the door.
